Tyler E. Morrison, M.D., M.A.S., provides talk and behavioral therapy, medication when needed, and a safe place for exploration.

We’ll discuss medical and psychiatric history, as well as testing and labs. Dr. Morrison will strive for a comprehensive understanding of your symptoms and their impact before diagnosing or treating.

You’ll have a safe space to express yourself, to better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Dr. Morrison will help you learn healthier ways to cope, and how to manage challenging life patterns.

We may offer medication to help you stabilize. This accelerates progress in talk therapy, yielding the most powerful changes. We typically use medications temporarily, especially with children.

Forensic Consulting
Dr. Morrison provides case merit reviews, independent evaluations, and expert witness testimony. His expertise includes trauma from accidents like fires, competence and capacity, and psychedelic therapy.

Dr. Morrison will teach you about relevant mental health challenges and solutions. He also teaches child psychiatry fellows at UC San Diego about mental health disorders.

Dr. Morrison, being double board-certified in adult and child & adolescent psychiatry, is equipped to address a wide range of mental health concerns across the lifespan. His areas of expertise include trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and youth mental health. Dr. Morrison provides compassionate care to help patients lead brighter, more fulfilling lives.
Dr. Morrison earned his medical doctorate and master’s degree from UC San Diego. He completed his general psychiatry residency at UC San Francisco and his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at UC San Diego.
Dr. Morrison teaches UC San Diego child psychiatry fellows as Co-Director of the Psychopathology course and Coordinator of the Forensics Selective rotation. He is also the elected regional liaison to the Disaster & Trauma Issues Committee of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Morrison performs independent medical evaluations (IMEs), provides expert witness testimony, and serves as an Expert Reviewer for the Medical Board of California, preparing opinions on professional standards and testifying at hearings.
