Tyler E. Morrison, M.D., M.A.S., provides talk and behavioral therapy, medication when needed, and a safe place for exploration.

Core Services

  • Evaluation & Diagnosis

We will discuss medical and psychiatric history, familial and social factors, as well as labs and testing. Dr. Morrison strives for a comprehensive understanding of your symptoms and their impact before diagnosing or treating.

  • Treatment Planning

We will collaborate to outline your course of care. This may include diagnoses, goals in your own words, session frequency, talk therapy styles, medication, and sometimes holistic alternative treatments.

  • Talk Therapy

You’ll have a safe space to express yourself, to better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You’ll learn to manage troublesome life patterns that may contribute to struggles.

  • Medication

Psychiatric medications can often help you stabilize and function better. This allows more participation and progress in talk therapy, yielding the most powerful changes. Medications are often temporary, especially for children.

  • Forensic Evaluations

Dr. Morrison also works at the intersection of psychiatry and the law. As an independent expert witness, he assesses individuals, writes reports, and testifies to help the court understand psychiatric matters.

  • Education

In addition to educating patients about mental health challenges and solutions, Dr. Morrison also teaches UC San Diego child psychiatry fellows about mental health disorders, treatment, and clinical skills.

Make each day brighter.

Dr. Morrison is double board-certified in general psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry, so he is equipped to help with almost any mental health condition at any age.
